To make things clear, Mackaboo is NOT my real name. I think it's an awesome name, but it's not my real name. I don't blog under my real name because I don't want people who know me to find this blog and whine to me about things I've said. Cause I know people like that. I also won't mention my friends by name, I either use descriptive nicknames or refer to them by an initial. What can I say, I like my anonymity.
Anyways, the name Mackaboo came from a few years back at church. My friend was telling me how her sister had just had a baby. As I put my head down to rummage in my purse for something, she told me the baby's name. When my head was stuck in my purse. So, what I heard was the baby name was Mackaboo. My head snapped up pretty quickly and I got super excited. 'Mackaboo? What an awesome name!' She looked at me with horror for a minute then burst out laughing. The baby was not named Mackaboo, but MATTHEW. Whoops. Silly me. #truestory
So I adopted that as my blog name. A bit confusing, a bit difficult to pin down, a bit looney, and utterly unique.
I don't ever intend to use my real name in this blog (sorry) but I do talk about myself. Cause I'm fascinating. I'm living in one of the cold northeastern states in America, but I want to live in the southwestern desert. I'll be a proud member of the class of 2012 come May, with a bachelors degree in English. When I grow up I want to work as a sign language interpreter, but until that day I work as a page in my local library. I come from a large family with five brothers, with me being the sole girl in the family. I read, I knit, and I have a history of being unlucky in love. My faith is a vital part of my life, and I've gone to church since I was little.
Um...I suppose anything else you could figure out about from reading the blog. So...you better get on with that.
